Also got to remember that Benjamin Franklin was a ROCK STAR in his day. He was so famous. Like, he was attending Hellfire Club sex parties at English lords' manors and then blackmailing the lords later when he was working on independence for the US. Ladies in the French court were basically throwing their underwear at him. He went on tours of Europe with screaming crowds surrounding him.
