In this video, I am sharing how I was able to fix one particular Blue Screen Of Death BSOD stop error code 7B (0x0000007B, 0x80786A48 or 0xc0000034).
I did it by switching the SATA operation mode in BIOS from "Raid On" to AHCI. This setting could have been changed during BIOS update or as a result of dead CMOS batter which can lead to changing BIOS settings back to default state. This fix may work on Windows 7, 8 or 10 alike.

OMG thank you so much... you would not believe all the things that happened just because my laptop started doing this... I thought I downloaded something bad and as I was troubleshooting everything to fix this I ended up unscrewing every mm of my laptop, I cleaned the fan, the RAM, I checked bad cables, etc. I was looking for cds with windows 7 64x installed (no success) to make a freakin chkdsk and realized the drive was not working anymore so I started to check for tools to get windows 7 on a freakin usb and started considering buying a freaking copy of windows 7 (yes in 2020), I switched parts to check if the hard drive was not bad, and since I had to work I had to buy another laptop and decided to buy a mac instead of a freaking windows for once, ...and I spent almost a year without my laptop until the lockdown was getting so boring I started to fix this again, then I reached your video and VOILA!!!

I was considering to format the whole thing but it's live again and since the fan is perfectly clean now it works so smooth!
I owe so much money I'm so bad and so happy at once.

Saved my old dell 760 after the CMOS battery died. Switched to legacy and all is well again. Thought it had to do with the hydro going out. Thanks for posting this.

Thank you! It does work! First I had to change BIOS setup to "Default factory settings" than restart and than select Bios configuration -> 'Compatible' as mine is an ASUS laptop and it only gives you two options : 'Compatible' = ATA mode and 'Enhanced' = SATA mode.
Note that after the changes I had to save BIOS settings and restart they laptop in a few times, like it did not want to save settings in his l BIOS.
Anyway. Just stick to it and repeat step 1 and 2 for a couple of times before you say: 'it doesn't work for me'

Thanks again DIY time tech!

Thank you very much! Only a few people show how to fix this problem!
I got a new „old“ laptop as a present from some friends and this was the problem on that. So thank you very much!

Thank you very much for your very helpful video. I had just updated the BIOS on my HP Pavilion Elite HPE-053uk and found the PC would not restart properly, and got instead the BSOD stop error code 7B. Like you, I discovered that the BIOS update had switched the SATA operation mode to RAID. Switching it back to AHCI solved my booting problem.

I am so thankful to you for making this short and crisp video. It sure helped me. My Win 07 screen is shaking from the bottom & so it was suggested online to update my BIOS, i did just that & was met with the blue screen of death. Now, it's gone and the display issue remains but i am sure i will fix it too. Thanks!

Cool! I forgot about the inconsistencies from MBR disks that come from other PCs. In my case I had to change AHCI for IDE to allow a chinese board to find and boot a Windows 7 install again. Maybe the CRC battery went dead overnight....

It somewhat worked for me. I use an E6440. It's still not booting normally but at least I was able to boot into safe mode with this.

What happened to me was I mistakenly changed the UEFI settings on this working laptop whereas I should've done so on a different E6440 without an operating system.
