Love ‘em. The build quality of the interior is not great hence the rattles and squeaks which is standard. Beware of the timing chain rattle which I think I heard when you had the bonnet up - the tensioning guides for it have a habit of falling apart, which I’ve seen first hand on my son’s R53 with similar mileage.

Looks like you found a good one. Three and a half years ago I bought a 2006 Cooper S, one owner with 88k miles on it. It came out of Palm Springs, California so no rust at all. Bought it in Seattle, Washington. Great fun!

R53's are usually dead by 100k, that ones probably had alot of work or had some kind of minor restoration.
