I think you’re single handedly keeping automotive specialists in your area in full employment with your purchases. Great job.

Matt please keep the initial walk-around of the car when you pull up to it. Just keeps the curiosity on and its nice to see it coming straight from the previous owner.

Ever since I watched your Discovery 3 review video a few years ago, I don't think I've missed any of your "I bought" videos. You've mastered your niche and you sir are killing it. Keep at it bro.

As soon as you said ecoboost and 10 years, the first thing I thought was the wet belt is due a change! Daughter has a 13 plate Fiesta which she bought about 4 years ago and we were told then it was about a £2k job to change the belt. Her original plan was to sell it before then. She still has

I have one. 2012 1.6 tdci estate with 310k km on the clock. Had it remapped at 140k. It's been a real working horse in my family and we plan to drive it until it falls apart.

These videos have made me look at my own car and, even though I’m not selling, I’ve cleaned it, put new plates on, new headlight lenses and mats. Just taken a bit more care so you wouldn’t roast it 😂

Our other ecoboost just passed 300k km, with timing belt done at 220k km. Our other is catching up at 130k km. No problems with either. Some a-holes say ecoboom, but cant look after them.

My normal fleet car in an old job was a 68 plate 1 litre ecoboom focus, lovely thing to drive. Sounded like a bag of spanners on idle at 40k, but it drove well... until we sent it for a service and didn't see it for 6 weeks, think they did an engine under warranty.

Serviced my 1.0 2014 regularly and it still blew up....nothing to do with not servicing them but Ford knows most wont do it often so when it does blow up if you don't have full service history they basically blame you for it happening, 1.0 ecoboost even has its own fb groups, problem is for sellers its quite well known not to touch these engines with a 50ft pole! plus £4, 495 seems a lot for a 106k 1.0 Focus on a 13 plate with paintwork like that, only paid £4, 500 for my 2014 automatic Focus with only 64k miles and has the 1.6 petrol engine that is pretty much bulletproof.

Personally wouldn't of touched this car as you've spent a lot on it and chances are there will be a angry owner ringing you up quoting consumer act in a few months lol.

You knew it was a risk 😂 but massive respect for sorting it out properly before selling.

That timing belt thing is the reason I would never buy one of those. Here in our german forum those engines blow up like hell and they also do when setviced right. Only thing you can really do is check the oil pickup on any service which noone does. Love my Fords, but hate Ecoboosts. The 1.5 TDCI is by far the superior engine for the Focus (at least the Mk 3.5).

Anyway, thanks for the video, I think the Focus Mk3 is a lot of car for the money.

Owned a Focus cc with over hundred and odd thousand on the clock and drove mint, ultra reliable. Very underrated car .

I had a 14 plate Focus Estate 1.6 Diesel ( navigator) It has to have been one of the most reliable cars I've owned. Apart from a new stop/start starter motor, it never ever let me down. People sometimes knock the Focus, but they are a great drivers car and very practical too.
I've just gone back to another Focus estate, after having two french cars in-between. Never again am I going french cars.. lol.
But can't really go far wrong with a Focus.

When I took my beloved’s 13 plate 30k Ecoboost Fiesta in for its MOT the garage told me that it had reached its 10 year or 100k mile cam belt change and quoted me minimum £1, 500 to do it because of the high difficulty of the job. I’m getting it done but I expect that there will be quite a few of these cars blurting out onto the second hand market when their 5k mile a year elderly owners get that good news.

So I have a 2018 1.0 ECOboost. There are a lot of owners whom have experienced this problem. Ford are not the only people whom did "wet belts" but they made it very expensive to replace - everybody has gone back to chains now. So basically a 10 year old ECOboost of this era is end-of-life. The MK3 lasts 10 years whereas the MK2 is still alive and kicking. Anybody whom knows these cars will avoid them big time. Ford have lost their reputation with this engine.

I used to have a Ford Focus & they were a good run around. I had it in pepper red & it never let me down 👍

I had a Peugeot Puretech 1.2 with the same idiotic cambelt in oil design which consequently suffers from the same problems. Fortunately I got rid before the engine grenaded itself but the Facebook owners group is littered with people who weren't so lucky. Whoever thought a lubricated belt was a good idea needs a good slap!
