If I had a nickel for every time the main character in a 3D platformer on the GameCube got framed for a crime he didn't commit and ended up imprisoned on an island, I'd have 2 nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice, right?

Nintendo basically abandoned Toadsworth after this game, and I don’t understand why we haven’t seen him return for Mario Party, Mario Kart, or even an Amiibo. I love his stupid gentlemanly design.

EDIT: No, I don’t count his brief appearances in the RPG titles or sport spin-offs like Sluggers, as there hasn’t been a new sports game including him since the Wii era, and he’s basically a one-paragraph tutorial with no actual impact to any of the RPG storylines, so he doesn’t count there either. To be “acknowledged”, Toadsworth must actually be part of the storyline, even as a side or minor character (tutorial doesn’t count), be included in a mainline Mario game (Galaxy, Sunshine, Odyssey, etc.), or be in a game where he’s playable within the last five years. For gods sake, we got BOOM BOOM over Toadsworth in the most recent Golf series. Toadsworth is literally THE demographic for golf lovers.)
