A round of applause for the editor that tried to learn blender. Your efforts might very well bankrupt the entire stock footage industry!

Just to point out: for every person who climbs Everest, there is a sherpa- an actual human- that does it too, without any of the prestige of the paying climber. And they carry that climber’s stuff. Shoutout to the sherpas!!

I met a guy who climbed everest about 6 years ago who told me there are even ultra expensive prostitutes who live in base camp, ranging in price from 700-5k/hour. Their tents are near the party tent. Wealthy people hanging out anywhere for 2 months straight are gonna have that stuff, but they've also got to keep it hush hush because prostitution is super illegal in Nepal.

Every corpse on Mount Everest was once a very motivated individual.

My mom climbed Mount Everest in 2002, apart of the first all US women's team. Sending this video to my mom right now!!!

Her reply:

Interesting video. Pretty much right on except for when I was there we didn't have any Wi-Fi or any phone service it was much more remote feeling no such thing as beds and beautiful tents with workstations. I called you from a satellite phone twice during my whole time there because it was $8 a minute we talked on Mother's Day at least I talked to you you were young and couldn't comprehend at the time but I told you how much I loved you and I was going to be as safe as possible and I have to tell you I turned around because I knew you were at home and there was a possibility of me not making it because of a storm coming in.

Thanks momma ❤️

Been watching a load of Everest documentaries recently and was at a point where I cared less about the Summit stories and more about the logistics and people behind it. Sherpa's are amazing

Protip: If you hop on a commercial airliner, you can get way higher than the top of Everest, at a fraction of the cost, in a lot more comfort.

Hi Sam!

Big thanks to Amy for scouting out the Costco nearest to Mount Everest. She deserves a raise for finding that great deal on walnuts!

6:47 I mean. Dying is a pretty clear failure, even if you get to the top.

3:12 Imagine spending tens of thousands (or over a hundred thousand) of dollars, travelling halfway around the world, and undertaking a likely once-in-a-lifetime mountain climb but you won't eat the local food
