It's all fun and games till you find yourself in that spot. Someone cared enough to start the process and find the funding to make that net under the golden gate bridge happen. If you are going through crisis and need to talk to someone call 988 lifeline, there are people who care and are there to listen. Your story isn't over, write another chapter.

If you put a dollar value on things like this, you might have a wrong perspective. We use money all the time on human life. When another human is in such situations, it makes sense that money could be used to make a difference, they will need access to help prevent it. Mental health is a very sad thing.

Wow, even one’s choice to quit life is being taken away.

There is a long bridge in China near Chungdu where there is a man on a scooter who rides up and down the bridge everyday talking jumpers to come back down. He does this 365 days a year.

If you knew anyone who had used this method of unaliving themselves, you don't think this is a funny story. This is literally a monumental achievement. It took more than 10 YEARS to get this approved, purchased and properly installed. If you have nothing good to say, keep it to yourselves.

The documentary on this created a positive impact, even though it was initially critcized ?

What's to stop someone from crawling off the edge of the net?

So when you jump does it bounce you right back up to the deck?

So did four people get there early or did they just send it?

I feel like this will lead to people jumping into the net as a stunt or for fun.

200 million well spent. Now, the desperately depressed can throw themselves off of tall downtown buildings.

Now that is some expedient expediency.

Im sorry but 200 million dollars for 12 lives a year? I’m sure those people will just go to another location, if you want to call that a deterrent.. more like a redirection . Seems like those funds could have been more useful towards the police or homelessness

Like all things, theyll find another way. Unfortunately.

Has anyone tested the effectiveness of the net? I’m sure someone will test it and upload to social media.

200 million? What a complete waste of money. That could have done so much more in SF, which really needs some help.
