I like the design of the Bravo more - the tamper actually slides through the outer sleeve, as you tamp, so there is no need to have an adjustable height. The adjustable height of the Pullman is, IMHO, a cheaper way of providing the self aligning function. With the Bravo, you start off with the outer sleeve resting on the filter basket, and then push down with whatever force you want.

That's all grat but what's happen when I'm changing coffee beans every few weeks? I'm still doing 18 grams of Crain's in to the basket, but they grinds differently. Will I have to adjust the tamper base on it as well?

In your opinion what would be a better buy, a Pullman Palm Tamper with Big Step or a Pullman Big Step Tamper on its own. Buying both isn't an option but keen to get one.

Please, don't tamp anymore putting pressure on the spouts of LM portafilter, they are fragile. Please use the side of the table, that's why all LM portafilters have that flat zone on the bottom.
