Makes sense. From what I understand Lynch lived in a rough neighbourhood in Philadelphia with his wife before becoming a filmmaker. He married as a young man and had a daughter who was born with clubbed feet which required surgery to correct. Even if you don't know/care about this aspect of Lynch's life, the film is about a man having to deal with becoming a father under extraordinarily difficult circumstances in a dark, unpredictable world. No need to elaborate. Your interpretation will probably be more insightful, or at least mean more to you, than his.

I mean, it wasn't like he was going to say that Dune was actually his most spiritual film, was it?

Watched the movie for the first time while tripping balls on alot of LSD. Ive never felt so traumatized and scared for the whole movie. I felt on edge the whole time. Phenomenal horror movie

David Lynch is awesome and very inspirational. Probably my favorite film-man. I watched Eraserhead first many years ago and I didn't really like it, but after looking at his other work I understand it and appreciate it much more now.
