When he said all the other races have turned us aside I started tearing up, I love the Elcor.

If you do the mission/quest, when you come back, you hear the Elcor respond to the question "how many did you save"

To this day, one of my biggest regrets about Mass Effect is that I never got to ride an elcor into glorious battle, like this mission made it sound like I was going to. :(

Everything about this makes me sad. An ambassador of a gentle unassuming race desperately asking anyone he can to help save his people. Everyone, including Shepard, puts them at the bottom of their priority list. They’re left to die and they know it.

Would've loved to actually have seen the War Assets EMS play into effect directly to the ending instead of just "you unlock a better ending" type of thing, just like how the Normandy upgrades did at the end of Mass Effect 2, and how you take command on who does what, and see if that person is right for the job, and either lives or dies.
I mean, imagine how awesome it'd be seeing the Elcor warriors charge into battle "Agressively:

first alien i talked to in ME1 was the Elcor ambassador. Also first time the player finds out about how non-council races are treated. Really made me love the Elkor.
When ME3 came around and he asked me for help after all the council races turned him down i actually jumped into the normandy and went there asap.

I wouldn't doubt the elcor's combat potential. Check out the muscles on that elcor. They're used to operating on a planet with 4g earth gravity, so on an earth-like planet with only 1g they'd only be feeling 25% of their normal weight, so presumably they'd be able to move 75% faster than they would normally. It'd be like a pro football linebacker who suddenly only weighs 50 lbs but keeps all of his muscle and physical mass. Friggin' wrecking ball.

The Elcor seem to always be so nice (except for that diplomat that hacked people up and sold their organs, I can't see any reason as to why people wouldn't help them (aside from the seemingly obvious tactical insignificance and the very obvious panic).

Volus don't use guns. Their arms are too short and their stomachs get in the way.

They'd be getting towed behind the elcor on little wagons, hunched over adding machines, fretting over how much each shot is costing them in materials and complaining about how much noise everybody is making.

I hope we can meet there one day."

I was so hoping by doing this side quest, I could ride an Elcor like a horse and shoot enemies.
