Andy choosing to not open the door to save the majority actually supports Andy’s programming to protect Rain. Opening the door would’ve resulted in her death, so while Andy had the new chip which forced him to put the corporation first, not opening the door is completely in line with his original programming.

I hear the argument that if we put AIs in charge of government we might create a dystopia, because it acts in it's own self-interest, instead of being motivated by human decency and values.

But then I look around at where we are already and wonder how we'd actually tell the difference.

It's a good movie, but putting it above Aliens is a wild take.

I thought ALIEN ROMULUS was awesome. The actor who played ANDY( David Jonson) the synthetic person and Raine's "brother, " did an excellent job basically playing two different versions of himself in the same body. He was a friendly, mild mannered brother to Raine, but the when he was reprogrammed he became a cold, calculating but logical "bad-ass" mission oriented android. I think his version of an "artificial person" was better than Michael Fastbender's portrayal of David/Walter in Prometheus and ALIEN Convenant. Very good analysis and video. ALIEN ROMULUS rocks!! 😄🤘

Have you considering doing a video on the philosophy of Bjorn? In many ways, he's a foil to both Rook and Andy in particular. He keeps making incredibly selfish choices, based mainly on rash impulse and petty prejudice. And ironically even his smartest decision (attacking the Xeno at a vulnerable time in its life cycle) somehow manages to blow up in his face.

I think I will read The Alignment Problem. Good suggestion.
