So... this was new!
Amazing to be able to go visit a Samurai battlefield and see it with my own eyes!!
What was your favorite part? Let me know below!! And when you're done, maybe go and watch one or two other vids!!

Absolutely loved all the stories in this video! Hearing the history of the battles, taking in the areas the officials were showing you, and even getting a taste of how it would feel to wear all of that armor…Talk about a learning adventure!

You look so stunning in the Samurai armor! I love the history about battle, I've read about it a few years ago but it's cool to hear it again 😀

Thanks for sharing this! It's so weird to see my family crest waiving behind you, it's everywhere! I went to Nikko on my last trip, I really hope to make it to that side of Japan on my next trip to learn more about my ancestors.

I feel like you made this video especially for me. I love history, and I have been to dozens of battlefields and other sites related to US military history.

The armor that you donned belongs to a samurai named Honda Tadakatsu. He was one of the Four Heavenly Kings of Ieyasu. Legends say that he was never once wounded after engaging in more than 50 battles. Thus called "The Warrior Who Surpassed Death". Very interesting figure you may want to check out!

So cool! I know my ancestors were samurai but never got a chance to really dig deep into this part of Japanese culture. Also, those bloopers haha

I just couldn't like this upload more. Maybe I am biased because this Nagoya area is my hometown (even though I have been here in Toronto for the past 12 years). I grew up near Nagoya and even visited the Battlefield (Sekigahara) when I was a cub scout (I just hated being a cub or boy scout when I was a kid) on its field trip. Nice to see you in a samurai armor (yoroi), and you actually look really cool in it! Also so glad to know that you went to a restaurant where locals go rather than a restaurant for tourists! One more thing that made me smile was that you bought "akafuku" from Mie on your way back. I totally enjoyed watching this vlog and am going to watch it again! Thanks, Norm.

Nice to see a different side to Japans history. Hope to see more like it ^_^ Really nice of the mayor to not only make time for you, but also assign someone to show you around. Best mayor ever.

Loved the bloopers at the end.

I’m really impressed with the mayor giving you a guide! 😲The samurai outfit was amazing! Glad the weight isn’t as heavy as the real thing, my back would be in painnnn.

That’s so true that locals never really get how amazed we are by their surroundings. And I only like to eat local when I’m traveling! Tourist food usually isn’t as good imo!

Is that one of those politician loudspeaker cars? 😆

Awesome Job!!!! More Samurai videos would be nice. Loved the bloopers at the end - shows a bit of the "fun" you go through in what we get to see! Keep up the great work!

This was a great video. Was waiting for this to come on the channel soon. And for the Mayor to allow someone to show you around like that. It is very nice of him. All the sights look amazing. Plus the bloopers. Showing the real struggles of videography. So true.

The outtakes at this end really take the cake! <underused expression these days ;) Loved how eager the Japanese officials were to escort you and share the history. Popping in there to say hello really served you well! Aren't those when the best things happen, when you just say "Why not?!" 🌸
