Today we continue the orchid diary series with more orchids I didn't feature in a long time.
▼▼▼More info below!▼▼▼

In order of appearance, the orchids are:

3. Dendrobium thyrsiflorum, never did anything great, but I am still trying!

4. Sarcochilus hartmannii x fitzhart, doing much better than before, but how does a spike look like?

5. The mule ear Oncidium, now known as Trichocentrum Hematochilum, has made a full recovery and now has a spike!

6. Renanthopsis Mildred Jameson is not doing well, I suspect stem rot and sadly I don't know how to treat it with any decent rate of success.

Good luck Dani, hopefully that is the beginning g of a spike on your sarchochilus orchid. Don’t forget to keep your viewers updated if it is. I’m curious how long it takes from the time you notice a spike till the time that it will bloom. 🌸

Dani, I love your orchids! I found out that you also grow other plants, one is the Nepenthes! Can you do a video update on your secondary channel on topics about Carnivorous plants or Nepenthes? Thanks!

hi Danny, , , i have Miltassias/ brassias/ Brassidium/ and a couple of Degamoras with well as my phals...
my question is ....they are in semi hydro.. with pebbles in the bottom of the glass vases.. and a little water under the pebbles....they face a N/E window with good ventilation.. no direct sun....with an overhead fan on as well... i live in australia is this a good way to look after them

Hi there! So I have a few Phalaenopsis orchids and I'm slowly graduating to cattleya and dendrobium as well. I started my collection in October of last year and i very quickly grew to love them! I have most of them growing in a stone and bark mixture at the moment and they seem to be happy - they're all putting out new leaves... So my question is: how do i know they're not just taking really long to die in my care... How do i know i'm taking good care of them? I haven't seen any new root growth in this time.. Do you use different fertilisers for blooming and growing stages ordo you stick with one throughout? I'm stil learning Thank you for your awesome videos!

Hope you come up with a solution for your orchid with stem rot even if you have to cut it severely. I do hate to see a plant die! Hopefully, it can be a "hospital patient" for a year and survive!

Danny! I’m so sorry about you Renanthopsis. I also ordered in the winter and one of my ascda’s suffered rot in the stem. No choice but to cut/ top the orchid. Hopefully it makes it.

if the orchid does have stem rot, hopefully it keeps the one leaf, i have a phal that got rot and it kept one leaf, it now has a basil keiki that is doing really good, has roots and three leafs. maybe this one will do the same hopefully :-))

I have had phals lose all their leaves to crown or stem rot but the roots were good so I kept watering as usual . Eventually it put up a keiki . I don't know if you would have patience for that.

Hi Danny and everyone, I need help with one of my orchids, I can’t find a specific answer to my problem and I’m not really sure what to do. Im not an orchid expert but I do love them. I have 2 that I got as gifts over time. 1 is les then 2 months on my care and I it have tons of problems. it is extremely big orchid and it already lost over then 6 leaves (4 left). I think the problem was it got replanted before I got it and I noticed one leave inside the pot and the top popping out, since lot of problems. Now the top leaves get yellow from the crown area and I don’t know how to stop it, the stem is now on the top and no leaves left above it :( any forums you would suggest that I can upload pictures and get some help? Or maybe an email of someone that will be willing to consult me? I feel sad for that orchid and want to save it. Thank you.
