The profound importance of John as a foundation stone of the British blues movement can’t be overstated. An inspirational father to us all whose run of albums from the 60s into the 70s… Beano, A Hard Road, Crusade, Bare Wires and Blues from Laurel Canyon defined what British blues could be and were a launch pad for the triumvirate of Clapton, Peter Green and Mick Taylor. John deserved a knighthood for his cultural contribution. R.I.P. and thanks for everything you gave us John.

Thank you Eric for that very heartfelt tribute to John. His importance in popular music and Blues music in particular cannot be overstated. And it’s clear from your statement that he was a very dear man to you and I’m sure a good family man as well. God bless John Mayall. Thank you, Eric.

We lost a legend. John Mayall and his Blues Breakers helped launch some of the greatest musicians in rock and blues. I still love, and listen to, the first Blues Breakers album with Eric Clapton- an absolute classic! RIP John Mayall

I’m a 70yr old musician who was greatly influenced by John Mayall.I only seen him live once but that was the “Turning Point” album tour in England and that album still stands up today & is my fav JM album! Oddly a few weeks ago I kinda had a JM afternoon listening to his broad collection of works, something I hadn’t done in years!.. God Bless and RIP John Mayall, a “true” legend.

"I can't do my best unless I got room to move".
That was one of my mantras growing up.
RIP John.

As a harmonica player my singular favorite is clearly ROOM TO MOVE. One of the greatest harmonica pieces of all time. R.I.P. John Mayall.🙏

I saw the Bluesbreakers in Honolulu about 15 years ago... We arrived early. I see this guy by the entrance, setting up a small makeshift table with CD's of the Bluesbreakers' latest release. He was by himself and I almost felt sorry for him. I'm buying a CD from the guy and I realize, Oh my God that's JOHN MAYALL! That's the type of guy he was. He never was or wanted to be a "celebrity", he was just a musician with incredible integrity and a passion for the Blues. A few weeks later, I got to chat with him at the Dallas Forth Worth airport...
