What's Inside a Piezo Igniter of Gas Lighter

Here you will find the parts of a Piezo Igniter. Piezo ignition is a type of ignition that is used in portable camping stoves, gas grills and some lighters, and potato cannons. Piezo ignition uses the principle of piezoelectricity, which, in short, is the electric charge that accumulates in some materials in response to high pressure. It consists of a small, spring-loaded hammer which, when a button is pressed, hits a crystal of PZT or quartz crystal. Credit: wikipedia

This was the first video listed by google, and I was expecting to see how the thing worked. Oh well. At least I got to see someone tear sh*t up with pliers.

If you know the purpose of each of those bits and pieces and how they work together to produce a spark, then narrate it in the video; it will have educational value for viewers. If you don't know, go learn, it will increase your own education in the electro-mechanical field. If you learn how to edit a video to add labeling to show the name of each part the video will have much more value and you will be more effective as a teacher in cyberspace.

in lighters the piezo system is isolated from your hand and the ones in lighters only have one wire and no return wire to the bottom metal cylinder on the piezo so im wondering how does the spark happen between the tip of that wire and the gas nozzle? im trying to fix an older torch lighter whos gas was not flowing properly i think i fixed that somehow but seems the piezo wire is sparking at different points and its difficult to fix unless i get another piezo i have on hand problem is the wire on that one is too short but when i try sparking it to the nozzle it would only spark when my hand made close contact to some of the metal parts of the lighter like the head or the bottom brass refill port i could feel the spark on my hand that is holding the lighter when the spark goes off and lights the flame yet i never felt that before when the lighter was in working condition can you explain this please? i suppose the high voltage from the piezo somehow finds its way through the tip of the wire across the fas nozzle and somehow through the hand (ie ground) but you do not feel it when the piezo is inside a proper working lighter

I used to take apart the big lighters and make a housing for the sparker and have a homemade taser

Why don't they make these out of a stronger plastic? It's annoying when they break and your whole torch becomes useless.
