Every country has a right to defend itself so if Iran thinks that JF17 is good for Iran then why not because it’s cheap and very potent aircraft.

Iran is in a dire state of emergency and need to uplift it's Air Force, which have old F-4 Phantom and F-14 tom cats, the maintenance and keep them in readiness state is an hphil task, while Iran is facing sanctions as well. Iran have few Mig 29 forth generation air craft. Iran's decision to purchase Russian SU-35 is a good decision but it is a heavier aircraft having two engines and needs more maintenance. As a Frontline light combat it needs a cost effective aircraft. JF-17 is best for it's normal operations.
