It’s funny and fascinating to look at how cultures view beauty standards, and it’s generally something slightly outside the norm for the area.

For example Filipinas culturally have a beauty standard of lighter is better,
but for many(I would argue the vast majority) of western/white men, a Filipina’s skin isn’t ‘dark’ or ‘brown’
it’s a ‘perfect bronze the kind that glows almost golden in the sun’.

That used to be called a ‘Mediterranean complexion’ in the west and was for over a century considered the feminine ideal.

She was a chronic liar put money in secret bank account instead of paying bills, found out after the divorce she had several flings both here in the states and in trips to the Philippines. gave my children benadryl and alcohol to make them sleep while I was at work and left them home alone.
