Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has called a Hamas-proposed ceasefire and hostage release deal "ridiculous" and "absurd" as the Israeli War Cabinet discusses the proposal that could include the freeing of the remaining hostages in exchange for 1,000 Palestinian prisoners. In the meantime, Netanyahu approved the IDF plan for a Rafah operation. Dr. Asaf Romirowsky, the executive director of Scholars for Peace in the Middle East joined LiveNOW from FOX's Josh Breslow to discuss the latest developments.

The final word has to be decided by Israel, not by any other country. They have not been in their shoes. If they were, they would do the same and worse to defend themselves.

israeli here. i never voted for Netanyahu, but to ask at this moment if we should go to elections or if the israeli people stand with Netanyahu is a very stupid question. first Israel has to win this war against hamas and then get back all the hostages, and finally create a situation that hamas won't be a threat again. after that we can have 25 elections in one year, i don't care. our first concern has to be to survive. is that asking too much?

If I was Netanyahu I wouldn't stop now and give Hamas time to recoup and hide among civilians again either.

Prisoners release numbers must be the same as number of hostage release.

As an Israeli, those "protests" you see in Israel do not represent the majority.
The majority supports this union government and the goal of winning the war.
Anything other than a total victory for Israel will be one foot in the grave.

how's this for a "ceasefire deal" Hamas lets all the hostages go immediately and surrenders unconditionally then, maybe the IDF spares their miserable lives.
