Look to geology and fault line cracks. It looks like the sand fell into the cracks. If the crack created was the same width and depth and the depth of sediment was the same the pattern of sediment fall could match.

First Hypothesis:
Some debris such as rocks mays have fallen down and created those holes, but the rocks sank into the sand over a period of time but still, how can that happen in a straight line?
Second Hypothesis:
It could have been an ancient sea animal dragging a fin across the ocean floor.
Conclusion:
It had to be an extinct sea animal and or a thousand years old.
