Peter and Angie were very good decades long friends of mine.. I’ve never heard Peter raise his voice above his normal baritone. (Even if he was frustrated)

I’ve seen the “old man is mad” footage, but hearing him yelling on top of the falcon is crazy stuff, and amazing to hear! I’m glad the old footage wasn’t lost..

I always loved the fact that Chewie doesn't get translated. He clearly says meaningsful stuff, but we only get Han's response. Makes for humor, plus I like that they didn't feel they had to explain everything. So many movies overexplain.

I loved the fact that he was given actual dialogue. Just so the lines of the other actors made sense while they acted.

To those who say "so what": I disagree. This info gave depth to the critical moments before the imperial invasion that Chewie was well aware of the urgency and that he had strong opinions on what Han was spending his time with. "Tell him we're leaving, then!!" gives another impression of Chewie. It's not just a disgruntled dog who can weld but wants his owner there by him when he has work to do, but instead an intelligent person with a plan. In fact, it feels as if Chewie is the captain of the ship and the commander of their mission, and that Han is the buffoon pet that we usually consider Chewie to be. "Where the hell have YOU been?!" Mind blown, actually.

Imagine how weird the movies would have been if they left in the original voices of Chewie and Vader

The magic of this movie is humans talking to robots and space creatures in their own language...grunts are cool.

I dont think they ever intended for him to speak English, but it would be easier for the characters to interact with Chewie while filming if he was actually talking to him
