The submission system in WWE 2k16 was good to me. It allowed red damaged superstars to actually have a chance to escape

2k19 is still one of my absolute favorite WWE games.
If the worst thing you can say about it is that the white menu screen was annoying, then I dare say your game is borderline excellent.

2K19 is still my favorite of the bunch and the one I play the most because of its roster full of legends from the Attitude Era, as a great number of former ROH and TNA stars. You can also create an AEW roster with wrestlers that are currently there. The menu was never a problem to me, but yeah, I guess for some people might be annoying and it should have a dark mode.

Ever since 2K15, it truly feels like the WWE games truly have lost their magic/pizzazz. With many fan favorite match types missing, questionable gameplay mechanics, questionable game models, and overall so much tediousness that the old games never had. There was no star rating back then, allowing you to have endless fun in every match without any unnecessary objectives, no pointless MyFaction garbage, the GM modes in the first few SVR games were god tier, the Season modes were so much fun with many great storylines, and overall, the games had WAY less glitches. They were still there, but they were inoffensive and didn’t crash the games at all, unlike 2K20 and above. Overall, while I don’t dislike the 2K games as some I’ll admit are fun, they’re not on the same level as the classics, and it makes me miss those days all the more.

2k15: feels like it was made by someone who never had watched wwe
2k20:felt like it was made by people who never had made a game

Unpopular opinion, i like the wheel submission system, the button mashing is so frustating, you get off of the submission quick or your lose, there is no in between. i wish they let us choose the submission system like they do with the pin minigame.

I have to mention the custom wrestler freeze or crash in 2K22. When you made a custom wrestler the game would freeze or crash at a random point. For an example the game would crash or freeze after I changed their height & weight. Only way of fixing this was uninstalling then reinstalling the game.

You know a game is good when the worst thing about it is the menu screen😂 2k19>>>

The biggest negative of all of these titles is the lack of a local image uploader. I'd love to revisit 2K19 as it features a bunch of wrestlers I really like, but without that customisation depth that the image uploader brings, I just can't. It's a real scummy move by 2K just to force people to buy the next game but all its done is ensure that I will NEVER pay full price for a 2K title until they fix this. Also My Faction should just go away. I buy these games for Legends content mainly and locking it all behind that mode is outright evil.

Dude I loved the bright white menu, the "Thanos snap" effect on the superstars was awesome

For 2K16 I whole heartedly disagree, this submission system was underrated and you were actually able to escape if you stayed away from your opponent depending on damage and the gold dot appearing in the minigame to get you out was clutch. Far more better than button mashing when you have no chance in escaping nowadays in the current games.

Honestly I'm still so confused as to why 2K15 didn't have Create-A-Diva. The creative suite is pretty much the first thing I would make sure carries over to next-gen but to cut out an entire section of CAW? That was ridiculous.

That 2K19 example seemed like a reach. You get used to the menu screen and you can adjust the jukebox if you don't want it to "Blow My Mind, Blow My Mind". 😂

The thing I hate the most of the 2k games is the mat bumps sounds following WWE 2k14, they got them right in WWE 2k14, they didn't need to change it.

WWE 2K14: My favorite out of all, but I don't exactly consider it a 2K game since Yuke's and THQ did a lot of the work and 2K just took over by the end of development. Fantastic showcase mode and features that we never got to see again (Create a Story, Create a move...)

WWE 2K15: 20 CAW spots only, extremely poor in the creation suite. I don't blame them because it was the first WWE game on PS4/XBOX One, so they were getting their feet wet. Aside from this, it has probably my favorite showcase mode after 2k16.

WWE 2K16: One of my favorites, fantastic showcase mode, 100 CAW slots are back, stacked roster for that time, MyCareer was kind of directionless, but I liked the format.

WWE 2K17: No showcase mode and overall meh updates since 2K16. MyCareer was essenstially the same. Completely skippable game.

WWE 2K18: Updated graphics, but boring and weirder MyCareer mode, not remarkable batch of DLC as well. Again, completely skippable game aside from the obligatory roster updates.

WWE 2K19: A small breath of fresh air thanks to the story driven career mode (aside from being slightly cheesy) and DB's showcase, gameplay seemed more fluid as well.

WWE 2K20: I think everyone already knows this game's infamy, the already known glitches and model renders speak for themselves. But I want to point out specific thing: they made you look like the biggest jackass as the male protag on MyCareer mode. It was pathetic.

- They filled their DLCs with weird fiction themed roster members/stories, probably due to pandemic. Some worked, some didn't.

I pretty much sticked to Fire Pro Wrestling World after the 2K20 fiasco. My will to play WWE games was completely gone. So I don't know what 2K22 and 2K23 offer. Feel free to tell me your opinion on both games, if you want.

for almost 10 years, the WWE games have fallen in many different ways. on the PS3 era to PS4 era, WWE 2K14 was the only greatest game that it has ever been on the PS3 it felt like on the PS2 days from all the other previous games of it. and when the freaking PS4 era began, the WWE games have started to go downhill, the old match types started getting removed from every next new game that comes out every year. this next new game could be the most TMSI that i ever seen in a sports game😢😢🥺🥺

The biggest problem I have with 2k23 is the fact that they don’t include JBL’s APA model as an alternate attire set when he went by Bradshaw.
It would’ve been nice to be able team him up with Farooq with the APA’s tag team entrance.

2K needs some space from all the interruptions, rushing a sad game is VERY low when it goes to honoring our favorite's.

I personally felt that WWE 2K22's gameplay was more frustrating than fun especially when it came to reversing moves. I have no problem with having different ways to reverse grapple moves vs. attacking moves, but the way SVR did it was so much better. It at least showed you the prompt that you are supposed to press. It felt fair because it was giving you a chance to press the right button, and even if you didn't want the prompts, their were certain visual cues that helped you distinguish from an attack reversal and grapple reversal, I used to be so good at it, that I could play legendary on my PSP and felt like a boss when I got a reversal chain going. WWE2K22 made me guess which one I'm supposed to use and if you're just casually playing WWE games it felt like an artificial way to make reversals harder, I'm no where near as good at SVR as I used to be, but I still have so much more fun going back to SVR than WWE 2K22 in particular. Okay I enjoy SVR more than 2K in general lol.
