my dad has a friend who has drastically different beliefs from my parents and what he says seems completely insane to me, but it's really cool to have grown up seeing him and my dad sit down and talk about their different views: why they believe what they believe, how that affects their daily lives, what role it plays in the current political situation and the economy, and so on. This TED Talk carries a really important message. Even though I don't like interacting with certain people because talking to them frustrates me, it's good to remember that they are just people trying to defend their own beliefs.
