Amelia is the same and even better talented doctor than Shepard, the only difference its that their sisters always supported Derek and made him feel like he is awesome, but everyone always putted Amelia down, making her feel like she isn't enough, i know she had her drug issues but even before that you could see how her sisters treated her.
