Number 6 is The Man In Black. Ritchie Blackmore.
Impossible to pick and narrow the field of his greatness to just 3 albums. When you consider Made In Japan, Rising, On Stage, In Rock, Long Live Rock N Roll, Burn, Machine Head... which of those do you leave out? Even his greatest individual song: MiJ version of Highway Star has got to be up there, but probably my favourite performance of his is an instrumental that was originally a b-side for the All Night Long single. Weiss Heim. A stunningly beautiful piece of music.

Jeff Beck -
'Blow by Blow'
'Jeff Beck's Guitar Shop'
'Wired'
Performance - 'where were you'
A performance honorable mention for 'cause we've ended as lovers' from 2007 crossroads guitar fest.

I had the double cassette of 'Blow by Blow' & 'Wired' when I was a teen. That got played when my step-brother would drive me and my friends up Mt. Ashland to go skiing. ⛷️

Hello Pete and everyone. Today’s choice is someone who is possibly more recognised for his songwriting and arrangement skills than for being a traditional ‘guitar hero’. Whilst he isn’t generally known for lengthy solos, his playing style and guitar tones have been hugely influential:
Pete Townshend
Favourite Album / Songs - Quadrophenia / I Can See For Miles & Pinball Wizard

#6 Michael Schenker

Favorite solo: I'm a loser

#6 Terry Kath
Chicago Transit Authority, Chicago II
"I'm A Man", "Ballet For a Girl In Buchanon"
This guy could sing too! "Make Me Smile", one of the key songs in "Ballet..." is a stone cold classic.

#6…Pete Townshend, The Who. I really started to pay attention to the Who when the Live at Leeds album came out in 1970. The power chords and unbelievable energy created by Pete, especially on My Generation and Magic Bus were ground shaking. I sort of knew earlier songs like Can’t Explain and I Can See For Miles and remembered watching Pete destroying his guitar on the Smothers Brothers show in1967, but didn’t realize how much this skinny, angry, windmilling guy in a boiler man’s white jumpsuit was ushering in heavy metal rock and roll. Tommy, Quadrophenia and Who’s Next are easy choices as his 3 best albums, but it’s hard to name 1 specific solo. How about from the Isle of Wight DVD, his solos at the end of See Me Feel Me.
