For you trivia nurds: present at this council was St Nicholas of Myra. He was a staunch trinitarian, fighting against the arian heresy to the point of actually punching Arius in the face. He was born circa 280 in Patara, Lycia, in present-day Turkey, losing both parents as a young man, used his inheritance to help the poor and sick. Hence he is the inspiration for the legend of Santa Claus. A devout Catholic, he served as bishop of Myra, now Demre.

To say these Bishops of the Church, the successors to the Apostles, many of whom had endured years of terrible persecution, many of those (not all) who came to the council were missing limbs and tongues and having endured torture and prison for the sake of Christ and the gospel…to say they would dare change Christian doctrine because the Emperor told them to do so…is spitting in the face of these great servants of Christ and his Church.

certain groups who desperately want there to have been a "great apostasy " love to use this council, because it's so important. they very rarely actually look uo the content though.

I love this channel so much. Goes straight to the point, doesn't sugar-coat it. And says the things that had to be said.

Muslims will hear something about this Arian heresy and disingenuously blow it out of proportion claiming "ah yes this was the first time it was decided that Jesus was God!" smh

No, but Constantine DID demand decisions be made quickly because he had commissioned the creation of several Bibles that could not be completed until they solved some issues. This cannot be overlooked. Before this point there were no collections of biblical text we would recognize. They weren't really found bound together in one collection until after this council.

If only I could get my cousin to understand this. He keeps hiding behind his psych major and claims that anything I say isn’t true because I dropped out of college and I’m not one of “ThE eXpErTs.”

This is the kind of Christian page I can get behind. Finding the truth so you can help others spread the truth and help others be better Christian’s.

According to Dr. Daniel Wallace, greek scholar, the books of the biblical canon predated the council of Nicaea. And yes, as stated in the video, we don't have a scintilla of evidence suggesting Constantine (nor the council) made alterations in the Christian doctrine. The council of Nicaea was established for the clarification and organization of Christian teachings.
