The company that built this building was a joint venture between a Thai and Chinese company. The owner was jailed for 2 years for hunting a black leopard in a Thai wildlife reserve and has stopped paying his workers due to financial problems. The Chinese company used new technology in construction that reduced costs and was the first project in Thailand . But I think they may have used low-quality steel made in China. This incident was a lucky break for the civil servants who will go to work in this building because if it had collapsed, thousands of people might have died.
