Is this not bidirectional ? Telling you charge or discharge, or you mean the readings will be backwards if you hooked it up backwards ?

You do a great job on your videos. I have been running this shunt since it was launched and I have to say that it has been a horrible experience. I have gone back and forth with Renogy trying to figure out the issues and they continue to send me “canned” replies that simply say to reference the manual. I am not an idiot and I can read so this has been very frustrating. My issues are as follows:
1. The shunt continues to drop its connection with my Renogy system. I am running a Renogy DCDC w/solar 30a, a Renogy 100ah smart battery, all connected to the Renogy Bluetooth hub.
2. I have to power down the entire system to get the shunt to work again. It gets stuck on a reading and displays static information in the app that is outdated and resetting is the only way to get it working again.
3. The alarms are useless. The shunt (when it’s working) simply beeps and sends no push notification to the DC Home app telling me that there is an issue. The app doesn’t even show an alarm on the shunt icon within the app. You have to physically press the icon to launch the shunt screen within the app to see that there is an alarm. Again, this is useless for someone like me who has the system built into my truck’s canopy and I can’t hear the low beeping that an alarm has triggered.

Renogy’s technical support is useless if you want any feedback other than, “please refer to the manual and follow the instructions.” I even asked them to warranty my unit and never heard back. I ended up selling my original 500A shunt with screen that you have been using when I bought the Smart Shunt because I figured I wouldn’t need it. It was a mistake and ended up costing me more money for useless technology. I am curious to know how your shunt works for you over the next few weeks.

If you have a battery bank, do you want one directly connected to each battery? Or one for the entire bank.

I regret buying this shunt, it's been so unreliable, it refuses to talk to the One Core controller, keeps dropping off from DC Home, needs resetting on a daily basis I contacted Renogy support and was told it wont work with a non Renogy battery !!, then they said you can't use it as a standalone product and you have to buy a One Core panel to use it !!, these are both incorrect, as I pointed out in their own user manual it can be used with any brand of battery, I am using this in a second vehicle with a Li-Time as a standalone through DC Home and all it's been is trouble, latest is a red light flashing and can't find out why, there was a firmware update to One Core a few days ago and not it doesn't talk to One Core anymore, IMO don't waste your money on this it just going to cause you headaches.
