What a time to be alive.10 years ago every monitor was glossy, and we wanted mat coatings. Now: first glossy gaming monitor. In few years we will have first gaming mouse with a ball :)

i always wondered why everybody wanted matte coating when i personally thought glossy looked best! it's great to see glossy making a comeback for gaming monitors!

I would never have thought about that if you didn't mentioned here. I think Mac screens are looking so good, because they are more glossy than others, despite being coated in some way.
I also had a relatively old laptop lying around. Resolution was not fancy, but the screen was glossy and looked much better indoors than more modern laptops with a matte screen.

I really love how these monitors are clean, simple and no logos.

I've been using the LG c1 oled since August. So I have some experience in both glossy and matte.
If you have your setup where a window is facing the monitor, don't even bother getting glossy unless you get blackout curtains. The reflections is insanely noticeable.
But if your setup has curtains or isn't near a window.... it is definitely 100% worth getting over matte.
I've noticed that if you have a room only lit by ceiling lights, the matte actually looks worse because it spreads the lightness throughout the monitor.

I’ve often wanted to remove my matte filter to see what the screen looks like glossy. It’s possible but it could never be returned to its original condition. I’m surprised no manufacturer has come up with a removable or optional matte filter at factory.

I love glossy panels! I game in a dark room with thick curtains, so reflections are never really a problem. All monitors don't have to be glossy, but they don't have to be all matte either. Give customers a choice! Besides, you can always put a matte screen protector over a glossy screen if you really want. Removing a matte coating is much more difficult.

I've had a glossy panel for 10 years, and the trick is to have a warm light source that that is at an angle where it won't be visible as a reflection on the glossy panel, but still able to uniformly shine its light across the entirety of the panel. For some reason it greatly increases vibrancy, contrast and gives you deeper blacks.

Matte panels can't even compare, as long as you know how to set up your lighting conditions, which is why I'm waiting for some nice glossy options before upgrading. It's like comparing a high quality photograph, printed on glossy paper, to an aged, washed-out printout on plain paper.

another advantage of glossy over matte is that to deal with reflections you can control the environment, turn off the lights, remove bright objects and more, with mate you are sort of stuck and it will always have a layer of anti glare hindering your experience.

Never understood why everyone wants matte screens. I mean in a gaming Setup you plan to not have any light reflections on your monitor anyways and glossy is so much better in quality

I ordered one. Wish me luck it ever arrives given Eve Device's history

Glossy all the way i can never deal with the very noticeable loss of image quality of matte screens

I have won a glossy BenQ LED TN LCD in a tournament back in 2006, and I thought it was the single biggest improvement to an LCD screens ever. Gone was the bland look, everything was more vibrant, CLEAR, much more like on my CRT. Still, it was 75Hz so I sold it. In January 2022 I went on to build a new PC and decided to finally buy myself LCD as the main screen (been using Mitsubishi SB2070 all those years)... but there were none in the shops? So I just bought 144Hz AOC 24G2U, as it was a reasonable price to check 144Hz, if I'm ok with IPS, pixel density and fps vs size and resolution. I will say side by side on the strongest overdrive it is close to 100Hz on my Mitsubishi, but it is not even a competition when CRT is running on 120Hz or more (this one can go 160Hz depending on the resolution). Anyway glossy 240Hz 27 1440 IPS is probably what I would like next.

What do you use to extend the chord length of your Sennheiser IEMs? I want to have mine run under my desk like you have yours but they're not anywhere near long enough.

Finally. I've been a fan of glossy for years, because the benefits usually far outweigh the drawbacks in an environment and lighting under the users control.

I hope EVE as a company manages to deliver and deal with the whole customer side of things. Screen sure looks nice tho!

I am so happy that Eve stood up to the plate and gave us consumers what we wanted. I have been holding off upgrading my old ass desktop monitor because I love glossy displays and I despise matte antiglare.

I'm glad youtubers are finally talking about glossy. I have been complaining about no glossy options for YEARS.

To me the diffusion and larger reflections that are a result are more distracting and annoying than the direct reflections of glossy. With that and the vastly superior image I'd take glossy for sure.

The best glossy is the kind that exists on high end tvs like the new LG oleds for example. They do a very good job of minimizing reflection intensity while being glossy.
