You forgot to mention that she can also do cosmic pyrokinesis, atmokinesis and teleportation as well. The reason Phoenix Force chose her, well it’s because she has unlimited psychic powers. She’s a perfect psionic, therefore she has a mind that can contain Phoenix Force immense power as Phoenix Force is the nexus of psionic energies. In my opinion though, she has rocky relationship with Phoenix Force because of the Dark Phoenix Saga. She still has trauma about what it did, and therefore keeps rejecting it; unlike Rachel who embraced Phoenix Force. If only writers could write a story where she finally embraces the Phoenix Force.

It's not just because she is an Omega level mutant. There is a spiritual connection between the two. They are one in a way neither can completely understand. They are basically soul mates and no matter how many times they separate, the universes will always bring them back together. She isn't just a host; she IS the phoenix.

I really like the parallel of Phoenix being an endless entity that represents life meanwhile Jean just wants a normal life no matter how powerful she may be, I like how opposite their intentions are but they’re still soulmates and they can’t escape eachother, even though Jean has unlimited telepathic powers and can potentially become a god with the Phoenix that has never been what she wanted, she never wanted power, but it’s still destined for her, it’s a really nice conflict, if they do it in the mcu I hope they touch on this aspect too

In the comics, it wasn't just Jean Grey's powers that made her susceptible to the Phoenix but that the Phoenix had forged a connection with her bloodline over the millenia. Recent comics have even expanded this all the way back to the dawn of human history.

It’s amazing how much of this video was incorrect on how Jean Grey became the Phoenix such as initially the Phoenix Force copied her body down to her mind body & spirit & put the real Jean Grey in suspended animation in a cocoon to heal from the radiation injuries she sustained for the teen try with the X-Men on the shuttle. She was later found by the FF. Please in the future, do your research.
