Hello, galaxy! I'm Chris Pirillo, and I love living the #Geek lifestyle - as a family-loving father, as an entrepreneur, as a Star Wars collector, as a retro video game player, as a LEGO minifigure fan, as a pop culture event producer, as a thrifting junkie, as an '80s nostalgia kidult, as a toy seeker, as a coupon clipper, as a consumer #tech advisor, as a person who loves picking up the digital camera that's usually sitting inside his smartphone and recording whatever thoughts happen to be in my head at the time (or experiences that I'm happy to share with the world)!

It took me about 5 minutes of deep thought even after watching your thoughts to come up with this comment.

I’m a Steve Jobs guy. I fell in love with Apple in high school (circa 2001) and bought an iBook as my graduation present. Since then, I’ve had countless iPhones, iPads, iBooks/MacBooks because I appreciated Steve at the helm and his attention to detail.

In my opinion, since his death, that attention to detail has faded and that “shine” and “polish” has faded as well. I, too, am looking at other experiences from other manufacturers to make me feel like my hard earned dollar is being put toward the best experience for me.

I hope you’re able to find that same thing, Chris. I appreciate your passion and admiration for Steve and what he brought to the world. May the force be with you.

Appreciate the shoutout, man! Steve is missed and Apple is, sadly, a former shell of what it once was. Sad.

This is so spot on. I found an old podcast recently that I made with friends after Steve stepped down as CEO. We were afraid Apple would eventually lose their way back then. Your videos have really been shedding light on the specifics of how they've been doing just that. RIP Steve Jobs.

I have to say that this is one of your best videos / commentaries. You are 100% correct Chris. Here’s the way that I see it plain and simple. Where Steve Jobs would have looked at something that his engineers presented him, he would have said “no way! You can do better!!”, Tim Cook would look at it and say “it’s great, let’s go with it!” I think once Tim Cook gets to a certain point on a project he wants to start manufacturing ASAP.
Jobs would bust his engineers balls till they delivered exactly what Jobs wanted. He demanded perfection. Tim Cook is ok with mediocrity.

You ain’t alone Chris.... I felt this way 2 years ago and went back and forth once or twice between Apple and Samsung but now stay with Samsung cause I can’t go backwards with technology. You made a good move man and Steve Jobs was an exceptional man and he will be missed...have a good day and god bless you and your family!

I think Steve Jobs would appreciate who you are and what you do.

Steve Jobs inspired me in so many ways. He is the reason why I started to design websites. He is the reason why I would work for hours on a tiny detail, because I could hear him say that it shouldn't be good enough. It should be insanely great.
I find it heartbraking that Steve's philosophy is more reflected in the competition then in his own company.

Not only has Apple lost their touch, their Keynotes have been extremely boring. Steve knew how to do a keynote and make it exciting. I never saw him read what he was saying like they do at Apple. Steve knew what he was saying and felt it, he showed passion, and inspired many. Steve Jobs legacy lives forever.

What is still missing for Google (ChromeOS or Android) are good quality full screen apps. I'm tired of phone apps blownup to be full scrren. That is where Apple wins with the iPad. And until that change, i'll keep my iPad Pro 12.

I'm not an apple fan, however, I can see how tough this can to you, Chris. Tough decision.

I'm with you Chris. Very well said. At this point I think we are a lot of persons who not only respect Steve but miss him so much. Peace

Fantastic stuff Chris. I'm new to your channel and this has earned a sub! Steve captivated me like nobody else in the tech world ever has before or since. I will never forget all the lawns I mowed and things I sold (even my PS2!!) to save up for an aluminum MacBook in 2009. I was more excited to buy that than I was to get my first car a year later. That's great marketing.

I remember watching you when the news came out. Very sad day, I didn't know the guy personally but it still affected me a lot. Thank you for the great videos Chris!

Chris I’ve been a subscriber since the launch of the iPod 5 and because of you and your videos is why I’m in an Apple ecosystem and I think Im going to do the same in replacing some apple products to who knows what, maybe Google or Samsung ? but I have to say Apple is not Apple no more and What goes up must go back down. It’s time to move on. Steve will never be forgotten. Forever your subscriber Chris . You’re doing an extraordinary job.

I was watching an old Steve Jobs video the other day, and I was really struck that there’s no way a company can lose someone like that without serious consequences.

And yet, every one of my Apple products are virtually just as useful as they were when Steve was around. But I use them for design and music production (where the screen touch input timing matters) so maybe I'm not finding the problems everyone else is.

I will admit, I've been using Apple products since the mid-early 90's and one thing I've noticed is that you can always figure out how to do something on an Apple product by using common logic, and yes, unfortunately that has slightly faded away in some ways, but until something better comes along, here I am.
