I guess that's why people call me "psychology girl"... I've thought like this since I was a teenager, after getting bullied a lot. Whenever I see or hear someone doing or did something...my first question is always Why?

Makes complete sense. People do things for the response they receive from others.

Whenever I hear people say "Oh, they're just seeking attention." My response is always "Yeah, but people seek attention for a reason."

im glad the 'why' is as fascinating to me as it is to him. people always go "why, do you care why they do something" and its usually in a rude way. "why do you care to waste time thinking of that" and you know what i do ? i wonder why they feel that way. : ) curiosity forever !!

People were *brutal* in the comments on that girl, and yeah she's twisted and needs help, but people went as far as "she'll be stealing babies from the hospital next" like calm down, she's running a really low effort inner-family scheme 10 times in a row that is not an indication that she's going to physically harm anyone... not to mention; if you have a loved one who pretended to be pregnant 9 times and you get fooled again into the 10th time you need to ask yourself some questions... why do you pull her close enough to get hurt 9 times but don't leave her close enough to help her prevent it happening again 9 times... they were clearly wanting a grandchild more than a functional child.

Hmm..true Dr.Phil, alot of people I believe 75% of them usually feel lonely and they try to lie or make up stuff just so they can be around people and feel noticed.Seems interesting how people react to loneliness. It's sometimes a wierd lie or not.I think the rest of the 25% maybe less, don't in interfere with people but stay in a corner and holding all their feelings and thoughts in them with no one to talk, witch leads to suicide etc.
I believe I made my point I hope u see and "listen" to my message

I’m not saying what Taylor did was right, nor am I supporting the act of lying about something so major, but when she said she felt like they cared more about her when they thought they’d be getting a grandchild out of it... that I could relate to. I was in a similar situation where my mother was completely hateful to me until she thought I was pregnant and when she realized I wasn’t, things went back to the way they were before with her not giving a damn about me or my well-being or any aspect of my life whatsoever. So I can totally understand that need and want for your parent or other family members to seem like they care or that they love you and how, with some parents, their love is conditional. I.e. I’m only going to show interest and love toward you and be kind to you if you have something to offer-in this case a grandchild-and if you don’t have that to offer then I want nothing to do with you... it’s sad and unfortunate but for those who don’t have that unconditional love from their parents, even if they’re full fledged adults they can be reduced to the state and behavior of that of a little kid who just wants to be loved by their mom and ultimately cared about. My situation wasn’t quite the same; mine was a hysterical pregnancy and it only happened once but the experience was painful in so many different ways and showed me a lot about how my mother REALLY feels

At time 2:23-2:29 she says exactly WHY she behaves this way. "They cared more about me... when I was pregnant." This is a woman desperate to feel loved, valued, cared for, and to know she matters in this world. Feeling loved is as basic a human need as air, water, and food. This is NOT a mental health problem but rather an emotional health one. She is in emotional pain from not getting the love she needs most likely since she was a young child. A human will do anything to avoid pain and this is why she "can't control" her behavior. The subconscious mind drives 95% of a person's behaviors and that is where her emotional health (or lack thereof) is rooted. Her family continues to withhold love and attention which drives the behavior even moreso. Families and society does this constantly which is why the destructive behaviors continue.... and continue to get worse. Until the "mental health industry" completely reframes and has a paradigm shift to emotional health these problems will persist.
