Maestro Barenboim, sobre, élégant et précis dans sa direction d’orchestre. @33:14 mon passage préféré, the best duetto ever ❤❤❤

"This Lohengrin is no knight in shining armor, confidently riding in on a swan to defend a beautiful maiden. No, the barefoot hero on view at La Scala these days [is] given to darting off stage suddenly or lying down in a fetal position when under stress.
"He's well-matched with the neurotic Elsa, who is easily startled and plagued by fainting spells and psychosomatic itching. That's all just for starters in the eccentric new production by [German director] Claus Guth of Wagner's early romantic masterpiece.
"Still, Kaufmann's long, liquid phrases melt into one another with stunning purity, and he shifts seamlessly from heroic blasts to hushed whispers, sometimes without pausing for a breath." [Associated Press review of 11 December 2012 performance]

I sure hope they wash those floors for the amount of dramatic falling in this production

Lovely, A Richard Wagner Opera game to mind. Act Two, Elsa sing: I am bound like by a spell -a.k.a ‘blown away. The speaker, has its name from this 😊

Elsa swoons more frequently than heroines in gothic literature. Emily in Ann Radcliffe’s The Mysteries of Udolpho (1794) swooned 10 times in the entire novel. Elsa easily outnumbers Emily within two acts of this Lohengrin production.

Wagner hat Teile dieses Werkes an der Lochmühle im Tal der Wesenitz geschrieben. In Lohmen/Sa. Ortsteil Mühlsdorf. Dort steht heute noch das größte Wagnerdenkmal der Welt. Geschaffen von Prof. Guhr. Ein Muß für jeden Wagnerianer.

35.40-36.50 Wagner composes cool music when he doesn't need vocals. 50.50-52.50

I wonder what the director was trying to portray about Jonas’s character. Why’s he looking dazed !

The acting in this production is so shallow. It's like high school/ community college level... In fact, I've been to community college Shakespeare productions with more convincing acting than this. What the hell. La Scala and some of the biggest names... I'm so confused.
