When the coating recovers the broken uncoated end it makes the reaining coating thinner and leads to earlier failure of the tensioned wire than otherwise. The wire has a potentially very long life and everything should be done to achieve that .It may not be rusty on the ends after a few years but inevitably it will be the first part of the wire to rust and if the rust chews away at untensioned wire before the tensioned wire, failure of the wire is delayed for years.

This might be a stupid question but how did you just break the wire like that at the end without nipping it with a pliars?

twist the wire in the same direction you wrapped it around the line then bend it in the direction with the most resistance. its something that just takes a lot of practice you might cut your hands trying it but the skin can heal itself however if you damage your wrists its an injury that can haunt you forever

its a magic fecers trick no ordanary man will ever know lol
if you make a handle on you wire u can bend it at a rightangle to where you have a twisted it round and it will make a neat tight break closer and tidier than you can eve do with cutters

What is the advantage of this Tex Brown knot over the Figure 8 one?

snapping off the wire is a neat trick but it leaves bare unprotected metal  ie steel not protected by a galvanised coating, next to the tensioned galvanised wire. This will lead to failure in a quicker time than if a short end is cut off and left.the corrosion has to chew away at the end of untensioned wire for a long time before it reaches the tensioned part where it can cause the wire to fail. This can lead to much longer wire life especially in a high corrosion situation, think near the sea.
