Piercing horror story: I got pierced at Claire's

My dad ingrained in my head when I started getting into tattoo and piercing, "if they don't open the needle IN FRONT OF YOU, ask for a new set up. If they won't, then you leave"

i defo overpay for all my piercings but tbh id rather spend too much than too little and have this shit happen! my friends bellybutton currently has this pink fleshy pus filled THING and no one (she asked piercer and doctor) knows what it is or what happened!?!?

although i definitely pierced my lobe. myself. in my high school class. with a pushpin. that i had found. on the floor. and cleaned up the blood by wiping my ear with my fingers and wiping it on my pants. never got an infection but still pay extra now to make up for my body mod sins.

Piercing horror story:
I got my industrial done the when I was 13 the same day my instructor rang me saying she booked me into a show for the next day I was like ye sure. So got there i was preparing oso (my horse) he decide to scratch his head against me and his bridle got caught on my helmet he pulled his head up taking my helmet with him my helmet strap then go caught on my new piercing. It pulled so hard my ear gushed down my neck and even got blood all over my white jodhpurs. I decided to do my round me and oso placed first it was great but on the way to collect my rosette i fainted from adrenaline and blood loss. The piercing healed perfectly. (My profile pic was taken just moments before I fainted)

My piercing horror story: When I was about 19 I decided to get a surface piercing but couldn't decide where to get it. Eventually I decided on a sternum piercing.
It hurt so bad but was worth it and I loved it! After about 9 months it began to get sore so I took it out. A year later I went back to get it done again.
Worst mistake ever.
The guy couldn't get the needle through my skin because of scar tissue, but he sure did try. He pushed and pushed with all his body weight with me screaming at him to stop because it was so so painful. He had the needle half way through and tried to convince me to keep going. Silly me listened to him.
He got it through and finished the piercing.
I woke up the next morning with my entire chest bruised, a bleeding piercing and lots of pain.
Needless to say I took it out and haven't tried again.

It’s actually my mom’s... well her my mom used to work in the cardiac ICU (heart intensive care unit.
One day a girl who was about 16-17 came in with an infected belly button it was so badly infected she got endocarditis (infection of the heart valves) she had to have open heart surgery. (I’m fairly sure she had to get one of her heart valves replaced with an artificial one cause of it) . I don’t know what she did. Like she must’ve pierced her belly button at home with a rusty needle then not have cleaned it...

I absolutely LOOOOVE her personality. Unfortunately I never have any stories to share my childhood babysitter and her husband own a tattoo and piercing shop. They follow every rule and protocol to the T! But I love all the good advice and pointers given

I was told by a lady at Piercing Pagoda that my one ear is a little further back than the other and I am insecure about it to this day. I agree never ever comment on someone's appearance ❤

Young and naive me in 8th grade pierced my 1st and second earlobes with blunt jewelry, I had had 2 really bad infections from gun piercings and thought piercing myself was the only way. Welp then in high school I decided I wanted my cartilage pierced... not only did i did i do it myself but i did 1 on each ear. I have since learned that piercing shops exist, ive gotten my nostril and industrial done. I am soooo thankful they came out have way decent and didn't get infected! Just pay to have them done right the first time!

I know people who used to tattoo themselves during classes in school, stick n poke and with a hand made tattoo gun that they also carried a generator with. Just tattooing things on themselves in the middle of class (it did get them kicked out quite a few times)

ok so when i was in middle school i really wanted a cartilage piercing. i asked my mom, she agreed, and we ended up going to claires (first mistake). they pierced me with a gun, and it was situated in the lower helix part of my cartilage. i remember getting it pierced and thinking the feeling was weird. not inherently super painful, just very, very strange. now, before they pierced me, both my mom and i had informed the workers that i was on a swim team and had practices 4-5 times a week, and whether the chlorinated water would prove to be a problematic interference with the healing process of the piercing. i was assured that everything would be fine. fast forward a month or two of cleaning the sucker twice a day with the shitty solution claires gives you, and my ear has practically swallowed the piercing whole. it was oozing, red, and incredibly painfully. luckily, my mom was able to get it out, and there was this decent-sized hole in my ear for quite some time. after a year or so, i got that spot re-pierced by an actual piercer with a needle, and ive had zero problems with it since. even now with a septum and more ear piercings, none of the healing processes were as troublesome and painful; they all went extremely smoothly.

case and point, dont get pierced with a gun, and ESPECIALLY dont get pierced at claires.

Piercing horror story:
I got 3 flat piercings in the same ear at the same day. fast forwards half a year later, one of them is infected to all hell even though i try to take good care if it.
i wake up in the morning and the jewelry itself is gone. the infection got so bad that it swallowed the ring on the inside. I called my mom, shes a nurse, and we took it out. blood every where, so much that i felt dizzy. never again.
