Adobe Animate vs After Effects | Ultimate Comparison

Adobe company has created a range of programs that can fit any type of digital creation:
Graphic design, 2D animation, or 3D animation. You can find different pieces of software from Adobe Products that will allow you to create fantastic artwork. Two of the most prominent ones are Adobe Animate and After Effect for animation and compositing.

In a nutshell, Animate was designed to create vector based web graphics and animations capable of complex interactivity without the need to transfer large content files. SWF stands for Small Web File, and I would say is the best software for this use, formally Macromedia Flash, and my all-time favorite.

After Effects was designed to handle the complete opposite, large high-resolution graphics and video files far larger than vector graphics being well into the MB and GB range, which isn't the concern it once was, point is one can't really compare AA to AE. IMO

I can't understand why Adobe Animate users aren't using Tahoma2d instead of Animate. (Unless they have to stick with Adobe where they work) Although Tahoma2D is open source, it has many times more features and its workflow is similar to Animate. The software has vector and bitmap layers. A timeline just like Animate, tween features (even tween animation and framebyframe can be mixed), the camera layer and more...

I've been working with Flash for over 20 years. I started with Flash MX. I love this program. I'm sorry that it is used to create simple animations, although it has much greater potential.

Animate is adobe flash before 2015.. I use this as a student back in 2000's. It's focus is on handrawn frame by frame animation. After effects animation is focused on whatever you'll draw or create in Ai or. PS. You can also create effects for video in AE which is impossible for Animate.

I am well versed in both AE and Ani CC. Both have their strengths and weaknesses. For character animation Animate CC is better, but it lacks a few things. Sound editing is poor. Built in transitions are not so great. Direct integration with mastering software like Premiere pro has been dropped. Illustrator, AE workflow is cumbersome.

I've been using illustrator for a while now and actually used AE to do a quick project on fiverrr but I still don't know how to use it fully. But since I love illustrator I think ill use after effect instead of animate
