Adolescent girls usually present to the clinic with infrequent monthly cycles. Either their monthly cycles coming once in 2 to 3 months, with little amount of bleeding or frequent monthly cycles coming twice in a month and they too present sometimes with a heavy monthly cycles with overflowing bleeding, it is severe painful cycles with dysmenorrhea. The girls who present with this infrequent cycles most of the others are very anxious about their daughters with infrequent cycles, but this is quiet common because of the hormonal axis development. But if the monthly cycle is associated with any obesity, hirsutism or acne development, maybe they need a little bit investigations like hypothyroidism, polycystic ovaries and treated accordingly.
