Good stuff. I keep learning this stuff over and over again. No problems seeing it in practice. The hard part is internalizing this stuff and making it a part of my vocabulary…breaking out of the same patterns.

I IV V modes are major, II III VI and VII are minor (or in case of the VII; dim) just like the chords

So the point that is confusing me about modes is: On one hand they say that the modes use all the same notes as the major scale. They just start on a different note, which doesn't really sound all that different to me. It just sounds like you're playing the major scale of that next note.

Then they say It just depends on what note you're emphasizing as to what mode you're plaing in. Steve has said that same thing in one of his other videos.

Now here in the this video we are raising and lowering notes in the scale, but he's starting on the same note.

How can it be both? It don't make sense.

So a ‘mode’ is just a variation of a major scale? Is that it ?

So, just like the story of “The Godfather” you want to wet your beak by providing just enough info to peek my interest. Or is it Peak, or Pique?

English is such a pain in the butt! Or is it but, or Butte? PS: Nice lesson!!
