Should You Game On A i7-4770? - Gaming Review

Is gaming on an i7-4770 worth it in 2022? This 4th generation, quad core, Intel CPU still has something to give.

In this video I test how the i7-4770 does in Modern Warfare 2, Cyberpunk 2077, and Red Dead Redemption 2.

I bought a second hand computer with an i7-4770 in it and it also had 24gb RAM. It cost only £200 and then I bought a GTX 1660 for another £200 so then I had a fully working gaming computer for £400 which runs everything great! Been working so well since September 2020.

Gamed on my 4770k from late 2013 early 2014 I believe to 2019. Was my first custom build processor choice and it worked awesome for all those years up until I sold it to upgrade. I regret selling it lol

Doesn't surprise me. I've got a 6th gen i5 and it's still kicking with a GTX 1060. Not perfect for every game, but i still drive it daily.

i am still using a i7 4770 paired with gtx 1080, playing at 1080p. everything runs smoothly and I don't experience any noticeable bottleneck that can affect my gameplay. still a solid cpu for my use, and probably will last me many more years. lack of nvme support is a deal breaker, so I wouldn't recommend someone building a new system with it, but if u can find a decent deals for an i7 4770 system, why not.

Nice vid! I got a 4770K in my collection, too. But turning down settings in COD MW2 wouldn't get you more fps because the 4770k is the bottleneck here. turning up the settings or resolution wouldn't hurt performance tho. still very impressive for such an old chip

Hey, I made a budget build from used parts which was originally an rx 460+i5-4570. I made the move to change out both parts, the i5-> i7 4770, rx 460> gtx 1070, on the asus b85m board. Its been about a year now, and I have to say I'm not in debt from getting alot of these parts pre-owned and getting a great ddr3 build, but I'm à bit surprised that intel took so long to move away from 4 core i7s, I believe the i7 8th gen has more cores. What you mentioned with prices is right on, if you can get it for under 150 with a decent psu, ssd, 16gb ram and maybe an older gtx, anything 9xx and up, amd anything rx 5xx and up, for most titles at 1080p its 60+fps. But that's about it, even when the fps is 140+ there will be latency, at least it's what I've been experiencing. Not rough delay, but at 144hz its noticeable.

I really wanted to put together a DDR4 Gaming PC but my budget didn't let me so I stuck with my DDR3 platform with a i7-4770 and 16 GB DDR3 RAM. I bought a rx 580 Rog Strix OC GPU and a new motherboard and a case. I love this PC so much. I played Metro Exodus on Ultra settings in 1080p around 40-70 fps lot of the time. Wolfenstein 2 ran very well too.

Found a computer someone was getting rid of for free, has a i3 4130 in there currently, 8gb 1600mhz ram, and gtx 660 gpu. Found a i7 4770 secondhand for 20$ on marketplace and will be putting it in soon. Next thing will probably be a SSD because it desperately needs one. Otherwise not too shabby for a free computer. Also in a HAF cooler master case

What these videos dont show: 0.1% and 1% lows. (Since you use RTSS, turn on benchmarking mode) No you're not playing at 90 all the time, its dipping into the 40s, 50s every few seconds causing stutter and a rather unpleasant experience. HOw do I know? I had a 4790K which was a faster CPU running at 4.7ghz with 32GB 2400mhz ram (yes ddr3) at a 3070 at the time.

Hello i have an i7 4770 and 1070 ti on full hd. Now i want to Upgrade to 4k. Problem is that i cant change to a better CPU on my Motherboard. Would you recommend me an 4000 series card still with my old CPU or should i put more money to work and just buy a new System?

My favorite setup for these is a Xeon E3 1270v3 (E3 1275 v3 is good too but more $) basically an I7 4770 and they are around 25$ on Ebay. Throw in a 1660super and they are solid 1080p performers (with newer architecture than the 10 series). Great Video! There are so many great games for cheap that are still amazing and are smooth as silk on older series, witcher 3, shadow of mordor series....etc. For the price of an old ps4 or xbox one you can blow those out of the water and use it for non-gaming purposes as well.
