The 2023 Mazda CX-50 has had a strong first year since it's launch in early 2022, and for good reason. This capable CUV is the first of three new models to roll out for Mazda between 2022 and 2024, all of which are expected to do big things for the Mazda brand. In this video, we do a complete walkaround of the CX-50 and highlight what makes it one of the best options in the compact SUV segment.

Greatly Improved Off-Road Capability over CX-5
A first look at the Mazda CX-50 will show you that it’s built for going off-road. Here’s your upgrades:
- Increased ground clearance (8.5 inches)
- Multi-terrain drive modes (sport, off-road, tow)
- Active AWD Standard
- Model specific accessories (roof platform, roof top tent, weather package, and more!
Size:
- Having more space is a selling point for crossover SUVs. While the Mazda CX-5 is no slouch in this regard, the Mazda CX-50 takes it to a new level. Both vehicles are built on different platforms, as the CX-50 is based off the very popular CX-30.
- The 2023 Mazda CX-50 is 5 inches longer, 2-3 inches wider, and 2-inches shorter in over all height compared to the 2022 Mazda CX-5, giving it a more rugged look, and wider stance/longer wheelbase for increased capability and improved handling.

- Standard Skyactiv-G 2.5 DI 4 cylinder (187 HP, 186 lb-ft torque)
- Optional Skyactiv-G 2.5 Turbo (256 HP, 320 lb-ft torque)

- Tweaked transmission for maximum durability
- Significant increase in towing capacity (3,500 lbs for Turbo models, 2,000 lbs for non-turbo options)
