When you commented about Darla representing the barracuda I was kinda shocked. In the Brazilian Portuguese dub, Darla says, instead of the piranha quote:
"I'm a barracuda! They are ferocious!"

I'm sure they had to change 'piranha' for something else because it is a bad word to call someone in Brazil, but the choice of making her call herself a barracuda bugs me even more now.

symbolisum, nemo is in a tank, when he justwanted freedom, he's caged in. marlin, is in the open sea, a freedom he dosen;t want, they are both trapped in their own cages, one litterally, the other mentally.

I feel like Darla really does symbolize the Barracuda, since her shirt says "rock n roll" almost like a subtle reference to the famous song 'Barracuda' by Heart.

I can't help but wonder what would have happened if coral would have gone back into the anemone with Marlin. The barracuda was obviously fixated on them and if they would have gone back he would have most likely striked at them and got shocked sending him away. I feel as though BECAUSE she tried to "act like a worrying mother" and swim towards her eggs, it ultimately led to their demise.

think about it. When a dogs treat rolls under something they continue to bite until they grab their treat. Coral was the treat and the eggs were collateral damage. If his goal was the eggs he would have made it a point to eat Nemo too. Coral most likely resisted as much as possible in that small cave until the barracuda got her. Just something I've always pondered.

Here’s my theory:

Nemo = no one in Latin
Finding Nemo = finding no one

Marlin was so traumatized from his family being killed that he became delusional and goes searching for his dead son who is just in his head.

Dory is his replacement for his wife in his mind and everyone and everything is in his head.

Yo, in Latin, they use the word 'nemo' to me 'no one'. So, by this understanding, the title 'Finding Nemo' should also mean 'Finding No one'. Take that as you will...

I like this theory, as it is on my favourite Pixar movie. I also want to point out that when Dory and Marlin are in the whales' mouth, Dory says when the water goes down "it is half full, " but Marlin says that "it is half empty." This is the showing of Marlin's negativity throughout the film, and Dory trying to make him see the positive. The word "full" makes it sound big, strong and happy, but the word empty makes it sound low, small and depressed. As you said in the video, Dory says that "It's time to let go, " trying to get Marlin get rid of those negative emotions. And it works! I came up with this as I watched that scene. You have no idea how many times I have seen this film

I always saw dory as marlins concince trying to help him with look for nemo and deal with PTSD.

Maybe this is why they make the glass in the picture frame shatter. So the crack can represent both the barracuda (Darla) and Gill's scar (the death of coral)
