Do electric cars produce less CO2 over their lifetime? #electriccar

How long before the batteries degrade to the point before they need to be replaced and then what’s the environmental impact of producing the battery and how many miles would it took to break even then?

Do these studies include pollution created by the mining for minerals to make the battery's?

Sounds fine if drive using green power, which is what I assume most EV drivers do (you wouldn't go to the cost and effort of getting an EV and run it from fossil fuel based electricity!). Also fine on Europe's energy mix and probably also globally given how long cars last.

Don't forget about the 0 pollution from the car in towns and cities which is huge for air quality and public health

That's not a lot, most cars get driven for way longer than that.

Petrol fumes, and the damage they cause not only to the environment, but mainly to our health should also be considered when discussing what's green.

They seem sound environmentally but yet not economically...unless you want to drive a Renault Zoe or strange looking early model of the Nissan Leaf.

Don’t forget how much more energy is needed to salvage the components and metals from an EV over an ICE car, I heard it’s about another 30k miles, but that puts it over the distance a battery pack will last so a current production model will almost never be actually greener than an ICE vehicle. The only benefit is the emissions are not at the tailpipe, they are shipped off to the production plant, be that the manufacturer, component /battery manufacturer, energy manufacturer or final disassembly. I remember a phrase from my childhood, NIMBY, or Not In My Back Yard which is very appropriate here

These studies are not taking into account the production of fuel. add that to the mix and EV's are by far the better option.
