Drift Responsibly! The key is knowing Where and When to drift.. If You must drift on someone else's trail (and blow out the turns) it is only fair that You learn to repair the damage. We spent months maintaining a nice shared trail near our village (including building bridges so walkers & dog owners could also enjoy the trail) but after repeated severe damage by others we were spending way more time rebuilding it than riding it. We eventually gave up on it and now build & ride much farther away from the trail wreckers. After we abandoned the old trail all the walkers, dog owners and MTB riders just have to deal with the crappy trail with no bridges over the burns (streams & rivers) and get on with the swampy, overgrown, destroyed pathways. Like many things there is a right time and place for them, Drifting is fun when used responsibly, but used in the Wrong place it can ruin it for everyone.. Our new trails are miles away from everyone and we build, ride and enjoy them in peace. It is kinda sad that others can not enjoy our work and such a shame the original trail was mashed up by people with no respect. #RideResponsibly :-)

Drifting for me started on my dirt bike in my backyard at a very young age. driving would never be the same. Maybe that’s why I have so many points on my record today lol.

A (rear wheel) drift happens when you are going fast enough into a corner and you have more weight on the front of the bike than the back. Almost everyone has experienced a front wheel drift (not having enough pressure on the front wheel) but it is only when you have the confidence to put almost all of your weight on the bars (temporarily) that the rear breaks
loose.

This was like GT's "How To Manual" on pb ^^ They said you just have to manual and Blake said you just have to drift. But no elements of real teaching

I like this new 'fun' style of video. I'm no racer, so I ride for fun.
Nice one

Okay, so how do I drift? All I got out of that is that I need speed, but not actually how to drift...

Yep, nothing like drifters blowing out the single track on their way to Strava supremacy.

A dirt trail covered in pines straw works really well for different and if you crash it's not as bad like gravel.

So much wisdom provided today: locking the back brake is NOT drifting and RESPECT your local trails

Turn in hard un-wieght your back wheel (transfer your weight over the handlebars, works in Urban areas, not everyone lives near a trail :)

Funny how I can't do it on purpose but can do it instinctively. Like a left transition to right when I need to dodge people. It was a different bike though, my old hard tail with the worn tires that have almost no grip left and the ground was wet. All wheel drift, front wheel was sliding as well. Still can't do it on my full sus though, gotta try harder I guess
