HIKING TRAILER 10 MILE TEST (Dixon Roller Pack )

Hiking Trailers, packs etc are a good way to get heavy loads into those less accessible areas that we need to go on foot. I tested out one of these hiking roller packs for long distance hikes & campouts. Both for able & not so able bodied people who love the outdoors. This Roller Pack is exceptional for those purposes & I highly recommend.

My son pulled our gear on the Portuguese Camino 11 years ago. I wasn’t being lazy- had a pinched nerve in my neck 😊 I’m taking the roller to Italy this year for Via Francigena. Rolls so smoothly.

I use a simple 2 wheel golf cart the one wheel design is sort of not the best. I uploaded a video of mine and it works great and carries heavy tonnage. A couple issues people dont realize is age-bad feet and legs and back and also hiking in the desert in which huge amounts of water must be taken which is heavy as hell combined with other gear. You cannot carry it in a backpack you simply will be not able to go alot of places. Hiking carts work great and after using one you will use them often however they are not needed on all hikes only for heavy weight and longer distances.

Looks a great piece of kit Kenny. Good to see the type of terrain it will perform on, and that pack of yours i guess is 100ltr's +, with lot's more load capacity. Look forward to your return to the WHW using the Dixon Roller...Atb Roger & Diane

Looks like a great product.
Can you turn around to get an item from the pack without unhitching from the waist frame ?

This item looks as though it would help overcome some of the medical challenges I have with hiking (due to having Multiple Sclerosis). However, it looked as if it may cause some trouble on downhill grades of more than 20-30 degrees. Any input on this would be appreciated. I am debating wether or not to use this when i attempt the PCT.
Thanks

It seems ridiculous at first glance, but it really seems like it could be a great system, especially to relieve the pressure off the shoulders and back. Great product!

Nice gear test Kenny, just one question though... it looks like it might rub as its swaying from side to side, does this then rub on your waist? atb Si
