QUICK TIP: if HEN doesnt enable/boot up, go to settings and set your date & time to “set via internet” and then go to internet connection in settings and switch from “enable” to “disable”

In my case it took booting from Recovery Mode to get the new firmware to be recognized on the USB stick, and it took setting the browser homepage to about:blank to get the HEN installer to run without failing. Thank you for this video, it was very helpful.

Just used this tutorial. Works so well. I had same firmware as in video and managed to find same version to install update. had no errors. Only thing was xploit site was down but scrolling further down in search i managed to find one labled alternative download. it worked and linked back up with the insterlation screen on video.

I am a novice so anyone can do this.

Just so that you know, hashes work by creating a unique and unpredictable output for every possible input. So, if even 1 bit is changed, the whole hash would be different.

If you also consider that the hash is a HEX string, each character has a 1/16 chance of matching. So, the probability that the file has been changed is 1/(16^n) where n is the number of characters you check in each hash. This probability is the percentage of risk you're accepting.

So, for example, if you check 1 character, the possibility of them matching is 6.25%.

2 characters matching is 0.39%
3 is 0.02%

I always check the first and last 4 characters, a total of 8, which is a chance that the files are different. That's low enough for me.
