Why I Chose SENSAH (over Shimano)

Sensah VS Shimano, Sensah VS Sram. In the competitive market of road bike groupsets, the small chinese groupset manufacturer, Sensah is able to thrive despite the harsh competition. Before I built this bike, I had 2 groupset options, Shimano or Sensah, in this video I'll dive into the choice I made.

Great stuff! I would just want to voice out some stuff I agree with and some stuff that I don't agree with.
I am also running with the Empire v3 for a few weeks now.

Stuff I agree with:
-Sensah is best bang for your buck especially if you have a tight budget.
-All brands and components are fallible
-$/g is absolutely nothing

Stuff I disagree with:
- SRAM, Shimano, and Campy have been in this industry for a long time. What you are paying for is reputation built after a long time. Plus the R&D and QC their products undergo is part of the premium you pay. I'd always recommend paying the premium in stiff that matter like brakes and wheels
- You can fall down a real rabbit hole if you will justify Sensah's issues by going aroung finding fault in other manufacturers.

Anyways I like your work and your editing! Keep it up!

I use 105, my mum use Sensah Empire. Tbh, the shifting is great on both. However, the 105 hoods are more comfortable than Sensah's one. 105 also looks cleaner in terms of designs. But this is just my opinion. If you don't really mind the Sensah's looks, then I would advice to pick Sensah too.😁

I bought this same groupset last year - it broke after 47 days....SHEESH! The shifter mechanism is made of plastic and it will break beyond repair..Shimano's shifting mech are made of CrMo (other expensive series use TI??? coz they don't stick to magnet). I have a Sora set that's VERY OLD and still works fine!

I've been cycling almost all my life - one rule of thumb I follow - "If it's cheap, then it won't last! Buy cheap, buy twice!"...I'm not saying that Chinese brands are crappy because I've been using TRP components as well, and they're just AMAZING...but not cheap..

One thing to keep in mind though, is that there are many more shimano and sram products being used by people. So therefore there will ofcourse also be some faulty shimano and sram products, i would only expect the percentage of faulty over total products to be lower.

How much cheaper is Sensah versus Microshift? I have always felt Microshift has been underrated, at least for road components. Good video, have a subscribe!

Sensah shifter works awesome. I have Team Pro that is compatible with shimano groupset so i use 105 derailleurs and brakes. Shiftin is very smooth and 1 lever style shifter for upshift and downshift is very ergonomic for me.

best derailleurs for your buck are the Microshift Advent and Advent X with the clutch!

Dollar per Gram calc was basically useles.
You should instead have compared difference in price vs difference in weight using a graph.

What about Microshift Cento 11s very little information and looks like it's a good competitive price

I want to buy Sensah quantum shift level 2x10v for used on my bike (because is cheaped than Shimano 4700 series original...) equipped with 105 front derailled, and tiagra rd-4700 gs . In Sensah brochure they said is right for TIAGRA 4700 series. You suggest me Sensah quantum shifter levers?

i stil stick to ultegra. never had a problem with mine yet... the weight is quite good and unless you are racing in competition, you don't need a dura ace or even sram red. I am not a fan of 105, the weight isn't the best and they don't get enough attention as the ultegra, even weekend riders prefer ultegra and it is pretty much the sweet spot between price, weight and quality. If you are on a budget... you should just go buy a used( decent enough wear and tear assumed here) than buying a new 105 or sensah empire. I am a fan of lightweight and so I prefer to keep everything light without breaking the bank. I would pay abit more on decent quality than sacrifice budget for anything else. But that's my take 😄. What's your take?

The original Sensah (grey version) was better quality full metal levers no plastic. I suppose an engineer recommended composite a fancy word for plastic lol. Sensah was started by ex sram engineers so why waste money on sram prices. Its such a basic device not worth any more than what sensah costs. I personally prefer Microshift Arsis to other shifters but use sensah on my winter/commute bike as it works best with gloves.

Im happy with my Sensah was really cheap and it works, the only thing is that I find it very crappy in the upshifting but I can live with it

I was hoping to learn something like how they work, what is different about these.
Also, I don't care too much for shimano's ugliest cranksets ever; and I don't think that is pertinent to brifters.

I'm looking to buy 8 speed shifters to replace my old 105s, is the sensah reflex a good long lasting option?
