Crazy that everybody hates the EVF. I never had issues with the EVF of the a6000 and I feel like the EVF of my friends a6300 is like a revolution. The a6700s EVF must look awesome for me!

Both a6700, R7, and XS20 are great cameras. Although im not really into these type of content creation focused cameras. I am more on the photography side. I guess the most interesting thing about these releases are there are more grumnblings against the a6700, when we can consider how it has better rolling shutter and video dynamic range than the r7.

It also has the best video autofocus and lens breathing compensation, compared to the low performance of fujis when it comes to autofocus. And lastly the lens options; you cant beat sony when it comes to 3rd party lenses. I believe all of these 3 cameras are great and theres no need to grumble too much against the a6700 which is in my opinion the better choice if your mainly a content creator and not just focused on photography. Sony could have done better but the a6700 can go against the r7 and xs20.

Sadly the 6700 does overheat after about an hour when you're utilizing the HDMI. Not a big deal for me since when I record in studio using my monitor, I rarely record that long continuously. But if you have to rely on the HDMI for livestreaming b/c your PC doesn't have USB-C, then that could be an issue. I think Neweer has an external fan coming out for these.

I film out in the Arizona desert in the middle of the day. I want to upgrade and need 4k120. I was totally sold on the FX30 until I watched this video. Now, I think I'll get the a6700. Thanks, JV

As a filmmaker, from what I've seen, I think the a6700 would make a great b-cam to my FX30. The a6700 has the same dual base ISO sensor as the FX30. It may have only one SD card slow, but, that's not really a deal breaker for me. I use high quality SD cards from SanDisk, ProGrade and Sony Tough cards, all v90. And at $1, 400, it's really a no brainer.

*I think people get confused between Hybrid Camera vs Cinema Camera and I think most Creators forget that. That is why I sold my a6400 and ZV-1 because Although I do plan on buying another ZV Style Camera but I want a Cinema Camera which is Why I bought it*

Just bought the FX30 as a B cam to my FX3 great camera! But honestly either of these two cameras would be great, cameras nowadays are all so capable that its easy to get good results whatever you have.

The FX30 and 6700 would be a pretty good combo. I have the FX30 and might keep it in the cage and use it as a tripod camera and then use the 6700 for a gimbal cam and walkaround still shooter.

So I’m currently sitting on an FX30 and seriously considering the value in selling it and picking up the A6700. Turns out, I don’t do video nearly as much as I’d thought I’d like to and still am primarily a photo shooter. Honestly the A6700 is my perfect camera for hiking trip…. Not an easy decision.

That said, for the photo work I’ve done the FX30 has actually done some solid work. And I do kind of like it for no reason other than it’s kinda cool….

thanks for clearing up the heating issue. People have been talking about the a6700 heating issue non stop, but this would just be a bcam. they also unofficially make fans that you can add to your camera, not sure if they will be compatible with a6700. People 3d print them.

This is the video I've been waiting for...unfortunately translation costs here in South Africa make the FX30 more expensive even than the A7IV when in dollar terms it is 700 odd dollars cheaper...

I shoot 70/30 photos to videos, so it's a6700 for me. The evf is fine from a6300 to a6600 for me (my 2 apsc cameras), so the a6700 evf should be fine for me. The other camera I am looking out is the a7C II, to update my FF camera to the latest AI AF, video capabilities and colour.

I work with cinema cameras at my corporate job and I'm starting to branch out on my own, I think I'm getting the 6700 mainly because if I get a gig with an interview, I'll shoot 30 in air conditioning, if not then I'll rent. When you consider that a built in fan is also a weak point in harsher weather, humidity and sand at the beach, weather sealing makes sense for run and gun work. I think the upgrade path for me is gonna be a6700 to compliment my A7iv, rent rent rent then Boom! Ronin 4D 8k, then rent rent rent and BAM Sony Venice 2. I don't anticipate making it to the Venice but for a dual camera set up, having full frame and Apsc is a nice way to double your focal lengths on glass you already own and by the time I build out an fx6 for myself or something, there'll be a new $10k cinema camera on the block. Don't underestimate the power of an APSC lens selection. It's so lightweight compared to some of the camera's I've worked with. At the end of the day, does the client like their video?
