You covered this really great! As an engineering student who had to do this laptop search a few years ago, I wish I would have had this video. For the students out there, you really don't need anything crazy. In my solidworks classes I am surrounded by zephyrus laptops and other budget gaming laptops. 32 gb is best, but I have survived with 16. As long as you have some kind of mid tier dedicated gpu and a decent processor, solidworks will run.

Many thanks for your video. I work remotely from home and log onto my workstation at work which runs the solidworks. So I am looking for a laptop that would be best for this. I want the biggest screen possible and am not bothered about portability. So the spec doesn't need to be capable of running solidworks as the workstation does this. What would you reccomend?

Is there a reason the HP ZBook Power G9 was left out? It’s the series that appears most marketed towards SolidWorks. Currently an I7-12700H/A2000 8gb/1x16gb DDR5 is on sale for under $1, 600 ($1, 100 with some work discount programs). All it needs is the other open RAM slot filled and appears to be very well spec’d. The cost per spec on the Power series appears much lower than the Studio/Fury series. Is there a reason the Power series wasn’t/shouldn’t be compared/considered here?
