How about the person that pulled the trigger. Do not make this seem impossible to judge.

Always check to see if a gun is loaded and NEVER point a gun at someone unless you intend to use it. Baldwin failed at both.

As a gun owner I say the person holding the gun is responsible. If this was a rehearsal why was his finger on the trigger he should have handled it as a live weapon. Baldwin is responsible regardless of the situation.

To be fair, the person who gave him the gun should be held responsible but I do believe Alec should have checked he gun just to ensure no live bullet was in it since he was the one who has the job to fire it!! Albeit, this was a terrible, terrible accident!

If you know nothing about guns, you should not be handling them PERIOD!! If you are handling a gun the first and most important protocol you should follow is the protocol of gun safety. That protocol is before YOU point a gun toward anybody YOU need to ensure whether or not it is or is not loaded. These people who make a living “pretending” to use guns, while preaching about gun laws, best know basic gun safety before doing either “pretending” or “preaching”. Ignorance is no defense of violating the law. Baldwin violated the law when he aimed a gun at another person who was not a threat to him, and discharged its contents. “I thought it was a cold gun” is ignorance of basic gun safety for ANY gun!!

It's Alex he never should of pointed that gun at anyone for any reason! He wouldn't of pointed it at his family or himself

Alec baldwin should be, and he had plenty of times to check the weapon when he was practicing drawing the gun, and a single action only works when the trigger is pulled.

We know he didn’t intend to kill her but he DID! he should most definitely be held responsible, he should not just get a slap on the wrist and be able to walk away Scott free! Take for example a mediocre film with mediocre actors and actresses film photographers and everybody in between .. if this happened on their set the person would be doing some time .. He should definitely be held accountable ** also I must add the armors too bc this was all preventable‼️💯💯💯 Bless her Soul ❤️

I don’t think this case should be compared to the Kim Potter case at all, the circumstances are 100% different. Kim Potter was an officer of the law with years of weapons training, in a high stress, high risk occupation. Alec Baldwin is an actor who pretends for a living, he had no reasonable expectation that 1. the gun would be loaded with real ammunition and 2. If fired accidentally, it would result in death. I believe if they ever find the person(s) who placed real bullets in the gun they should face criminal charges, not Alec Baldwin.

Why do they put bullets in the gun? For a movie?? Is anyone shocked that this could possibly happen?

Any experienced person handling firearms always will check their firearm first and foremost.

It seems a lot of these comments are people that haven’t listened to the interviews of the ppl RESPONSIBLE for the weapons/ammo😑

The entire cylinder with bullet heads could be made entirely of one solid piece of plastic. It would look no different.

The big question is why using real gun in movies?

Any person in any realm of life that handles a gun is responsible for that firearm while handling it. Do not point a gun at anything that you don’t intend to shoot or kill, and if you’re an actor and doing a scene, TRIPLE CHECK THE GUN YOURSELF!

The adult man who shot her is responsible, accident or not. Case closed.

After bruce lees kid died on the set of the crow didnt they set a law that u can never point a gun at a person while filming a movie?

There is no crime. It was a horrible accident like the one that took the life of Brandon Lee. The person that was in charge of checking the guns is more liable than Alec Baldwin. It’s very sad. But no crime or charge on Alec Baldwin. Maybe a Civil Suit but criminal no. This is very different than the Kim Potter case. She was a veteran in Law Enforcement and should have known her craft.

With all the cgi and editing and realistic props these days, why the hell is it necessary to have a real, lethal gun? It seems utterly unnecessary and idiotic.
