In March 1999 Stanley Kubrick finished production on his movie "Eyes Wide Shut". 4 days later, he passed away. He didn't just die a few days after completing the movie.. He specifically died 4 days after the initial uncut test screening was shown to a small audience where he was seen arguing with execs backstage immediately afterwards.

I believe the reason he always shot his movies in England even though they were set in other locations is because he knew if he ever got on a plane it would be too convenient for him to be killed that way. He knew he would be silenced one day

The only "Dark Mystery" behind his death is that he didn't die during production of his last film.

He was an elderly man and a smoker. He didn't take vacations, was sedentary, and didn't exercise. Ever. He was a driven workaholic who was under pressure to deliver a motion picture to a major studio.

An associate of his has written of how he was shocked he was by how tired pale and worn out Kubrick was during production.

Who's responsible for Kubrick's death at 70? My conspiracy theory: I'd say it was Stanley Kubrick.

Interesting theory there amigo. We won’t know about “Eyes” until we see the missing 24 minutes. We won’t know about his death for another 50 years when all the actors in this play are dead and long gone. No problem for me, regardless of history. He is responsible for the greatest movies ever made, to date. There will be another master to come along one day, and make movies even greater, while standing squarely on Stanley’s shoulders. I tip my hat to the most accomplished filmmaker in history. There will only ever be: One Stanley Kubrick.
