One thing I enjoy about this animal; studies on their scleral rings (the ring of bone in the eye socket) is believed to be similar in shape to some nocturnal sea birds!

So Rhamphorhynchus was quite possibly a night-time fish hunter, that thanks to the structure of its limbs could also have been a good swimmer.

Also, my fav Rhamphorhynchoid, followed by Dearc!

I personally think it's a very cute pterosaur. I've always had a soft spot for the small pterosaurs and this one is no exception.

This was one of the first pterosaurs I learned about besides pteranodon. In the more I learned about it the more they grew my heart a little, especially Dinosaur revolution. And I agree these are one of the more unique and fascinating prehistoric creatures out there, in fact one of my favorite fossils is that fossil where it has the fish and its mouth and then there's another fish in the other fishes mouth. A of of a kind fossil!

Bout time this pterosaur is starting to get some attention. It’s one of my favourite pterosaurs too as well as one of my most wanted pterosaur species to come to JWE2.

I sometimes get a tick mark when people call Rhamphorhynchus a Pterodactyl when I work in the Paleontology Hall.

I loved the noise they made as a kid on Walking with Dinosaurs.

When I was younger I thought it was ugly, but it's actually pretty cool and I can't wait for it to be added to Path of Titans

I like their toothy, upwards-curved beaks and smaller profile! They stood out to me, even as a kid!

My favorite part about Rhamphorynchus is their cute little tails. I grew up watching land before time movies & my favorite movie was the stone of cold fire because of the pterosaurs. I remember Rinkus(the rhamphorynchus) would mess with his tail whenever he was nervous. I don't know why they chose him to be colored pink. Pterano & Sierra were colored more like you'd think a flying reptile would be. Those dudes were the first pterosaurs I ever liked. Their three respective species are some of my favorites. I also like tropeognathus & nyctosaurus.

I think it's actually really cute in about 90% of it's depictions, I hope it was fuzzy. I need it to have been soft and adorable

You'd like the Mahars then! They're 8 foot tall sapient ramphorhychus! I also enjoy the little beasts so when found out that there is a fictional race of giant ones I thought that was awesome.

I thought they were the coolest as a kid because, between the clawed wings, teeth, and pointed tail, they look almost exactly like a dragon (or wyvern, I suppose). This was long before I knew about feathered dinos, or Yi Xi, or anything like that, so it was the first critter to really open my eyes to the diversity of ancient reptiles.
